In addition to comic books, the underlying themes of the annual San Diego Comic-Con include technology and the future, two things that Jeffrey Morris understands very well. In July, Morris, the founder of FutureDude Entertainment, talked with Examiner on the convention floor about Oceanus and the company he started five years ago.
“FutureDude was my moniker in social media; I was a blogger,” Morris explained. “We just thought it would work well for the company, so we decided to rename the company FutureDude Entertainment, and it seems to be going very well for us.”
For Morris, the future is about technology and how to solve problems. “How do human beings advance and become better? How do we solve the issues we face with things like climate change or the health issues we’re facing or education? All those things. To me, the stories I am trying to tell are about confronting that, making change, making it better,” he said.
Oceanus a new adventure from FutureDude, is named after the Greek god of the ocean. The story takes place 20 years in the future in an underwater city and follows a married couple. The husband helped build the city while his wife developed a communication system to talk with whales.
