Karla Hult of KARE-11 interviewed Twin Cities’ resident Jeffrey Morris, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of FutureDude Entertainment, about the making of his new film Persephone, set to shoot in 2022. It’s the first big feature film for Morris who wrote the screenplay and is also producing, directing and designing the production.
The film is a science fiction adventure centered on a journey to the real-life planet Proxima Centauri b, which was discovered in 2016. In the interview, Morris shared how his experiences in education, media and with NASA all influenced the project.
Hult discussed the status of the film with Morris including the significant backers on board — producers Mark Ordesky and Jane Fleming of Court Five Productions, known for The Lord of the Rings trilogy and their previous roles at New Line Cinema. Morris said,”It’s been a huge honor to work with them as my partners and producers of this film.”
Morris also shared that the film will be created using new technology used in the Mandalorian. Casting for Persephone is underway, with Brianna Hildebrand of Deadpool signed to play a lead role, and Malcom McDowell slated to voice the computer.
